Marketer

Job Title:    Marketer

Reports to: Senior Manager

Location :   ShanghaiP.R.China

 

Summary:

  • Wish to appoint a Marketer to help our Chinese clients source feedstock, principally crude oil, condensate and fuel oil and support our product benches in the China market, to provide relationship support to our global crude team, fuel oil team and products bench in the China market. The role holder will be expected to originate and to maintain certain crude and products account relationships. The role will be based in Shanghai with regular travel expected to other major cities in China, Shandong and Singapore.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

·   Originate and support crude, feedstock: products and blending marketing opportunities in China. 
·  Work with traders and originators to position spot, term, tender and structured offers in a manner that will be competitively advantaged to the counterparty 

·   Develop and manage key customer relationships in China.

·   Subject to appropriate training and delegations of authority, provide risk management offers to customers in China.

·   Support IST’s analytical assessment of crude and product balances in China and provide relevant insight into market sentiment and competitive behaviour.

Required Education & Experience:

·    Education: Degree in engineering, finance or a commercial discipline.

·    Experience:

Ø5-10 years’ experience in oil marketing and origination, familiarity with Chinese oil markets.

  ØTrack record of relationship building with oil majors or independents with the ability to close deals.

  ØExperience of SOE such a Petrochina/Unipec. and independents

  ØFull understanding of refining processes and operational considerations as it applies to IST’s business.

  ØKnowledge of crude assays, refinery planning and alternative refinery supply options. LP understanding will be beneficial. Sound understanding of alternative sales & purchase agreements, nomination  processes and pricing mechanisms.

  ØEstablished relationships in China’s refining industry, both the state-controlled and independent sectors
